Product Description
In traditional Japanese sword classification, blades under 30 cm are Tanto, 30–60 cm are Wakizashi, 60–90 cm are Katana, and anything over 90 cm is considered a Nodachi (野太刀).
With a 90 cm blade, this sword sits at the threshold of the Nodachi category—long, powerful, and visually imposing.
This project took several months of mold development and preparation. The fittings are custom-made half-tachi style mounts, not the typical generic parts found on mass-produced swords. Standard zinc alloy wasn’t strong enough, so we upgraded to a high-strength, cold-resistant zinc alloy for superior durability.
The blade is real 65Mn manganese steel, fully heat-treated for proper hardness and resilience. The handle and scabbard are made to measure, hand-fitted to the blade and mounts with tight tolerances—no universal sizing, no forced fit.
The result is a long sword with clean craftsmanship, solid construction, balanced proportions, and a commanding presence. Reliable, sturdy, and visually striking—this Nodachi is built to impress from every angle.
